T-Mobile USA and HTC have started rolling out a new software update for the Sensation 4G. Don’t expect Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich — rather this is a Gingerbread-based bug-fixing update that will fix a bunch of issues and (most notably) improve battery life.
In addition, firmware version 1.50.531.1 also improves the Trace dictionary, screen (un)responsiveness, icon pixelation, camera app, lock screen and Wi-Fi connectivity. Overall, once applied, your HTC Sensation 4G should be more stable than before.
Still don’t see it? T-Mobile said this is a staged rollout, promising everyone will be able to download the new software by January 15th. That’s kinda far off, but there’s not much you can do about it at the moment. We do hope your particular unit will be included in the first batch… And if you hate waiting and have certain tech skills, you can always root your Sensation 4G and install some of the unofficial ROMs…
