Zynga brings the ultra-cute ForestVille to iOS

Just a few days (or hours, really) before it becomes a public company, Zynga has released another game for the iOS with ForestVille. This is the seventh game for smartphones Zynga has released this quarter and you can bet that mobile will continue to play a large role in its strategy moving forward.

ForestVille follows Zynga’s traditional business model, as it’s free-to-play but you can purchase in-app virtual items. On the app description page, some of the top in-app purchase include stacks, bushels and bunches of cash and these range in price from 99 cents to $9.99. Thankfully, I’ve found Zynga’s game can still be enjoyed even if you don’t buy things in it, which is more than I can say about a lot of competing games using the in-app model.

The company pointed out these key features in the new game:

  • Urban escape – If you’re not the city type, ForestVille is the perfect escape for nature lovers, complete with epic landmarks to decorate your forest.
  • Water works – Like any forest, ForestVille is lush with plenty of water, which will help your community thrive. Work with the beavers to create fun waterways to enhance your community.
  • Cute overload – If you think you’ve seen cute, wait until you see these critters. Meet the animals of ForestVille and we’re pretty sure you’ll try to squeeze them through your iOS device.

You can download the ForestVille game here (iTunes link).
