Sprint won’t be the only mobile operator offering the Samsung Conquer, with MetroPCS reportedly looking to add the mid-end smartphone to its portfolio. However, instead of sporting a WiMAX radio, MetroPCS’ version will come with LTE one, offering even faster download and upload speeds.

Aside from the change of the radio, we’re hearing everything else will be the same. In that sense, expect a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, memory card slot, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.

In a nutshell, the Conquer is far from a device you’ll go nuts about. Quite the contrary, it’s a mid-range smartphone, which if priced correctly (i.e. not too expensive), could be one of the most popular devices on MetroPCS’ network.

We’ll keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we hear anything new on this. Stay tuned in the meantime…
