Who says Android Honeycomb tablets must cost a more than $300? ARCHOS announced a new Honeycomb device, ARCHOS 70b Internet Tablet, with a price tag of just $199. That’s a neat price tag and considering the hardware under the hood, Archos may have a best-seller here.
Specs wise, the new tablet packs a 7-inch 1024×600 capacitive touchscreen, “powerful processor at 1.2 GHz” (dual-core?), Wi-Fi connectivity, 3D graphics processor, HDMI out, 512MB of RAM, and a microSD memory card slot.
Then there is a standard set of preloaded applications like email, web browser and social networking clients, allowing users to cyber-schmooze from the day one.
All in all, once released in January, the ARCHOS 70b Internet Tablet will be one of the best options to choose from in its category, especially for folks who prefer more compact tablets — i.e. those that can be held with one hand.
