iPhone users are sharing photos at a record level. However, most photos are (let’s face it) pretty boring and watching them can be pretty daunting. Enter Animoto, a new iPhone app that turns multiple photos into a fancy video slideshow that is easy to share and a pleasure to watch.

The free to download application is an extension of the same-named online video editing service, and allows users to insert their own music and text into the slideshow. Then, once you like what you’ve created, you can easily share your work with friends via email, Facebook and Twitter.

To get started, simply select photos from the camera roll, select from a collection of video styles (including two holiday-specific styles), pick the music track from a library spanning several genres, add (optional) text and you’re ready to go.

The service itself is free for 30-second videos (of up to 12 photos), but you can also upgrade to make longer videos. That options costs $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year…
