Qualcomm’s GameCommand helps you find killer SnapDragon games

Qualcomm announced its plan to launch its Snapdragon GameCommand app on the Android Market on Jan. 10 at the Consumer Electronics Show and this app will allow users to find games that have been optimized for the SnapDragon chipset.

If that sounds like what NVIDIA is doing with the Tegra Zone, you’d be right but Qualcomm may have the leg up because of its much larger market share, which might just be enough to entice developers to make the jump over.

“With mobile gaming proliferating at a blistering pace, apps like Snapdragon GameCommand make it easy for consumers to discover and access the most advanced Snapdragon optimized games,” said Dave Durnil, director of advanced gaming at Qualcomm, in a prepared statement “With exclusive and highly-anticipated games like ‘Fight Game Heroes’ and ‘The Reem’ Snapdragon mobile gaming is really starting to heat up.”

If I were a developer I’d be ecstatic because the Snapdragon GameCommand not only gives mobile users a way to quickly discover, organize and access the latest mobile games but gives developers a chance to have their games featured in the spotlight. What users can expect with this app is feeds from top gaming news sites and more than 100 Snapdragon GamePack featured games (including Fight Game Heroes from Khaeon Gamestudio; Bunny Maze 3D from Eyelead Software and Desert Winds).
