As expect, Parrot used the CES to unveil the AR Drone 2.0 that comes with a brand new design and reinforced body, as well as several new features.
The main new thing is improved 720p HD camera, which creates much better clips. Moreover, there are a number of new sensors, including a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis magnetometer, 3-axis gyroscope, 2 ultrasound sensors, and some downwards-facing camera that lets you know the speed of your quadricopter.
But that’s not all. Thanks to the new software, AR Drone can now auto-pilot to defined destination, which is pretty neat especially when you’re done playing and want to return it “home.”
Speaking of software, this AR Drone is all about sharing, so you can easily post images and videos you caught while flying on popular social networking sites and send them to friends via email.
Unfortunately, Parrot “forgot” to mention the price and the release date so we’ll have to wait a bit more to get that information. In the meantime, we have a demo video to share, featuring the lovable quadricopter as it roams through Paris. It’s pretty awesome! 😉
