Verizon extended batteries 50% off for 4G LTE smartphones

Are you unsatisfied with the battery life of your 4G LTE smartphone? Now is your chance to give it a boost. Verizon is chopping 50 percent off batteries for its full range of 4G LTE phones. Once $49.99, each battery is now on sale for just $24.99 — a good price if you consider how ridiculously expensive fifty bucks is for a battery.

Verizon isn’t exactly touting this sale. In fact, it’s doing quite the opposite: staying pretty silent. The deal was originally thought to be just for the Galaxy Nexus. After struggling to find any confirmation that a sale for batteries was actually going on, one DroidLife reader called Verizon Wireless. The representative informed him that all batteries for 4G phones were on sale, not just for the Galaxy Nexus.

The value in a half-off sale for 4G smartphone batteries gets even better when you realize just how much battery life sucks on LTE devices. It’s been a complaint since day one with the HTC Evo 4G in 2010. 4G speeds might be fast, but if you are like me and prioritize battery life over speed, 3G is good enough if it means you can tack on a few more hours of usage.
