Motorola Motoluxe and Defy Mini — two entry/mid-level Android smartphones announced for the markets of China, Europe and Latin America — are now available for pre-ordering in the UK through Clove.

The first of the two costs 258 GBP (almost $400) with VAT, while the second one could be yours for 174.99 GBP (about $270). The shipping date is set at late February/early March.

Now I know many folks don’t want to pay a small fortune for a high-end phone, but these two particular Moto handsets are not the right choice (at least I think so). I would rather suggest grabbing the old Samsung Galaxy S instead, which isn’t expensive these days.

In related news, Clove has also started selling the Motorola Defy+ JCB Edition, which is Defy+ additionally protected (like the Defy+ isn’t already rugged enough) with JCB-branded “visco-elastic protective sleeve.” It is available for 199 GBP, the amount that translates into roughly $307.
