Who else wants a 7-inch Asus Transformer Prime?

Everyone loves Asus’ Transformer Prime these days and there’s nothing strange about it. After all, it’s the world’s first (and still the only) tablet powered by a quad-core processor that also comes with that ever-handy keyboard dock. And while I love it too, I think I would love a 7-inch version even more. The reason is obvious – smaller tablets are easier to carry around and that should be the idea here — to leave your bigger laptop at home and carry around a tablet.

I know what you think – such a device would have a smaller and hardly usable keyboard. I dig the argument, but I don’t mind small keyboards. Sure enough, I’ll need some time to get used to it, but I think that’s manageable.

I remember trying out the HTC Shift (anyone remembers that gadget?). It was a 7-inch Windows XP (I think) tablet with a sliding QWERTY keyboard. At first I thought there’s no chance I’ll be able to type on this, but what do you know – I got used to it pretty quickly. In that sense, I believe I would adjust to a smaller keyboard a 7-inch Transformer Prime would sport in a snap. Of course that’s just me…

So I want to know – would you grab a smaller Transformer Prime? Or a 10.1-inch model is perfect for you?

A 7 inch version would be great, I love my HTC Flyer and to have the Transformer form factor would do me nicely. Just a shame a lot of the tablet optimized app’s don’t seem to work on 7 inchers. Only thing that lets the 7 inch tablets down.

As long as it don’t have the same problems as the 10.1″ Transformer Prime. I had to return mine due to weak WiFi. Now I’m waiting for the TF700 Tranformer Prime.

I think 7.7 like the Galaxy Tab would be great. That kind of size with a keyboard that doubles the battery life. I would buy one today!

That’s an even better idea! :)

I agree.  I have the prime (no issue with wifi or gps) but I use my HTC flyer on a daily basis (fits in my coat pocket or in my cargo pants).

If they can do a eee pad slider that’s like the prime in thinness but 7″.. that would be sweet.

I agree 100% – maybe if enough of us register our support for a 7″ version Asus will see the wisdom that small is not just beautiful but practical too – GH Polruan Cornwall UK

A 7 inch tablet that’s powerful yet easy to hold with one hand gives the literal concept of portability back to using tablets.     Two thumbs up and can’t wait for a 7 inch tablet from Asus.   All the rest who whine about needing 10 inch displays are just eye candy addicts needing more screen for another medium for playing movies.   Those customer-types won’t last for long.
