Bing announced that its mobile client for Windows Phone will get two cool features. First there’s Bing Vision, the neat feature that turns your phone into a scanner that works with barcodes, CD, DVD and book covers, detecting product information and associated links. Moreover, if you’re scanning some product, Bing provides you with local availability and cost comparison information so you can quickly purchase items of interest while on the go.

The second feature, Bing Image Matching for Newspapers, is a Bing Vision add-on that will be rolled-out in March. It allows people to quickly find the digital version of a print magazine or newspaper article. You will be able to take a photo of an article and get a link directly to a digital version of the article online at more than 3,000 publications worldwide.

Neat stuff, don’t you think?

And now you’re about to see Bing Vision in “Windows Phone action,” brought to you by the good folks of Pocket-lint. Enjoy!
