With iPad 3 just around the corner, activity on eBay’s electronics trade-in program surged, big time. According to information we got, eBay Instant Sale generated more than 125,000 tablet trade-in offers since launch rumors began to surface in early February, representing more than ten times greater figure than the number of offers generated for the same time period in 2011 when Apple was unveiling the iPad 2. According to eBay, consumers are now more familiar with the concept of trading-in old devices for instant cash.

Out of those 124,000 tablets, 97.6% are Apple iPad models, 1.5% – Android tablets, and 0.9% are tablets running other operating systems (PlayBook). Top Apple iPad models generating trade-in offers include iPad 1 Wi-Fi + 3G AT&T, iPad 1 Wi-Fi only, iPad 2 Wi-Fi only, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G Verizon, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G AT&T, respectively. When it comes to non-iOS based devices, the list looks like this: ViewSonic ViewPad 10 16GB, Motorola XOOM 32GB Wi-Fi, Asus EEE Pad Transformer 16GB, Acer Iconia Tab A500 16GB, and Dell Streak 7 16GB Wi-Fi.

So are you looking to get rid of your existing tablet before the iPad 3 launches? If that’s the case you may want to check out the eBay Instant Sale program and see how much they value your gear.
