One man, thirty iPhones caught at Chinese border

China has quite a smuggling crime syndicate on its hands, and a high-tech one at that. Instead of smuggling the usual lot of illegal drugs and other not-niceties we’re accustomed to hearing about, some folks in China are attempting to smuggle iPhones from Hong Kong to mainland China.

In mainland China, iPhones sell for about $125 more than they do in Hong Kong, and some smugglers are hoping to make a pretty penny off of this price inconsistency. One crafty Chinese man had over 30 iPhone 4S devices on his person and attempted to sneak the phones through airport security. He hilariously taped the iPhone 4S phones around his waist, arms, legs, and inside his shoes in hopes of duping security into thinking he simply had an awkwardly shaped body (hint: they didn’t buy it).

Predictably, the Hong Kong man was caught and his 30+ iPhones were confiscated, presumably leaving the man significantly in the hole rather than about $4,000 richer. Be sure to check out the video below for all the lulz, and if you do happen to be planning an iPhone peddling run into mainland China, be sure to find a better way to conceal the slew of devices.
