Spotify’s chief content officer Ken Parks talked to The Verge during SXSW and confirmed the streaming music service will begin to offer family plans in the future. He didn’t talk about the pricing or say when they plans would debut, but given the competitive nature of the streaming music industry, it will likely be soon.
Spotify’s main competitor Rdio offers family plans that cost $17.99 mothly for two users and $22.99 mothly for three. Each added family member will pay full-price. In addition to its family plans, Rdio recently released an update that completely redesigned the desktop app. This new look turns up the heat on Spotify to come back with something fresh and exciting.
