Sony unveiled two new Xperia devices – Xperia Go (which will be known as Xperia advance in the U.S.) and Xperia acro S. The first of the two is made for folks with an “active” lifestyle and is therefore a successor to the Xperia active. It comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA screen with wet finger tracking, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera, HSPA, Wi-Fi and so on.
As for the Xperia acro S, it’s a completely different beast, boasting a thin body and fancy 4.3-inch 720p HD screen. Moreover, it has a 12-megapixel camera on the back, NFC capability, and is also IP55 and IP57 certified for dust and water resistance. In other words, it’s a non-Japanese version of the acro HD, which was announced back in January.
Unfortunately though, Sony failed to mention availability and pricing information. We will try to get that info from their representatives and in the meantime we have demo videos for both devices to share. Enjoy!
Dusan has been using smartphones since their introduction and is now following the latest trends in the industry. The "convergence" is what he's most excited about, and writing about it is the next logical thing to do. He thinks that using a smartphone is what everyone who cares about their time should do.
In addition to his interests in mobile phones, Dusan also loves to experiment with the latest web and mobile 2.0 services. The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application.
