Motorola unveiled a new entry-level Android smartphone in Italy and it’s kinda fair to assume other countries throughout Europe will get it as well. As a low-end device, it’s pretty unimpressive, though I guess we can’t expect much more for 129 EUR. That’s the price of an unlocked, SIM-free device, which also comes with a 3-megapixel camera, 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio and a microSD memory card slot. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show and as far as we can tell, that will be the case for quite some time — since there’s not enough horse-power under the hood to run Ice Cream Sandwich smoothly.
All in all, we can’t really suggest buying the Motorola Motosmart, except if you’re looking for a cheap ticket to the smartphone world. In that sense, Moto’s baby does deliver the goods for 130 EUR…
