Yup, we knew Huawei is looking to the U.S. market to brings its LTE smartphones to Americans and today we know their first client – MetroPCS. The carrier launched a rather mediocre Huawei Activa 4G smartphone, which aside LTE connectivity isn’t special in any regard. Then again, I guess we shouldn’t expect much more from a device that sells for $149 sans any contracts (plus tax and after rebates).
Specs wise, the Activa 4G sports a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing one, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. MetroPCS’ press release doesn’t reveal the processor’s clock speed, though we assume it’s an 800MHz or 1GHz.
So is it worth $149? Perhaps, though we’re sure we won’t be getting it. What about you?
