OtterBox unveiled two cases for the popular HTC One X smartphone – Defender and Commuter Series. The first of the two is made for the toughest of environments like the construction site, military base or the top of a mountain. Touted to offer the “most rugged protection on the market,” the Defender Series case offers 3 layers of protection. The first layer is a built-in screen protector that maintains full-touch functionality while guarding against scratches and scuffs. Layer two encases the device with an impact resistant polycarbonate shell, which is finished with layer three – a durable shock-absorbing silicone. Moreover, the case also comes with a holster-style swivel belt clip that also doubles as a stand for hands-free media viewing.

As for the Commuter Series case, it’s not as rugged but it still provides solid, 3-layer protection. Again, the first layer is the self-adhering screen cover, the second is shock-absorbing silicone and finally the third one – polycarbonate shell with smooth exterior that won’t pick up lint or cling to pocket lining…
