Buying an unlocked phone today can be very beneficial in the long run when it comes to the price you pay in a one to two-year period. Well, prepaid wireless provider, Simple Mobile, has done something cool to persuade folks into joining its service. Starting today, customers will be able to take advantage of its new 4G data plans, which is slated for the price-friendly cost of $50 per month.

It’s not a bad bargain, especially when you consider wireless features including domestic and international texts, email, and Web surfing, all at 3G and 4G HSPA+speeds. Customers can expect data speeds of 15 Mbps down, all on T-Mobile’s network. This is still a pretty competitive offering when compared to those of Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and MetroPCS — who run either WiMax or LTE.  Now, if only Simple Mobile can get more phones supported on its network.

Aside from the lack of support in the most weird of GSM roaming areas, Simple Mobile is about the best deal for GSM mobile folks in the USA. Been w/them since Feb and frankly don’t have an issue. This drop in price for 4G-supported mobiles is good, really good. I’ve got a few whom are about to get nice and happy here.

As for that comment at the end of the article about phone support… what are you talking about? If you read their site, they said that there’s a list of phones they have tested and those which have been reported by users as having no issues. If its GSM and works on AT&T or T-Mobile, it will work on Simple Mobile just fine. And if you are one of those really smart people who have a penta-band mobile (you know, all those backwards and slow Nokia Symbian folks), then moving between AT&T and T-Mobile’s 3.5G service areas is really no issue at all. At least on that end of things, I’d expect better given the age of this site and the mobilists who’ve passed through these writing doors.

Was happy with them until they started throttling data and not supporting Apps at all (so says customer service). Then what the hell is the point of supporting Android phones at all. BS company. I am leaving and never coming back and making sure to tell everybody I know to stay away.
