Japanese company releases portable NFC keyboard for Android phones

How sick would it be if you were able to use a perfectly tailored keyboard for your NFC enabled Android phone? Well, that dream has become a reality, thanks to a Japanese company by the name of Elecom. The creative japanese keyboard uses a NFC IP-1 protocol, which lets you turn your mobile device into a compact productivity center.

Honestly, this is a cool concept because it utilizes NFC (Near Field Communication) for more than just mobile payments. In the United States NFC is still way behind when it comes to consumer adoption, as many new phones released with the chip inside go largely unused. Now for the bad news. Elecom’s TK-FNS040BK keyboard not only requires users to use its ATOK software found in the Google Play Store, but restricts users to a very short list of Japanese Carrier only compatible devices.

Still interested? The TK-FNS040BK can be had for the price of 18,690 Yen ($237).
