General Imaging (GIC) unveiled ipico, a hand-held projector with a patented pop-up connector that turns the iPhone or iPod Touch into a “genuine social media tool.” The compact device works without cables and in order to use it, all you have to do is slide your iPhone/iPod Touch into it and you’re ready to share your photos on virtually any surface — up to 50-inches in an optimal dimly lit room.
The ipico weighs only 3.35 ounces and is about two-thirds the width of an iPhone. At just over half an inch thick, its pop-up connector slides down into the dock when not in use and easily fits inside a pocket or bag. Moreover, when projecting, it holds the iPhone in place without requiring to remove the protective case from your device (except if you have some really bulky case).
ipico will be available in white to kick off the 2012 holiday shopping season for $129.99. It includes a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and USB charging cable…
