After phones, tablets and TVs – Android’s next destination are digital cameras. The rumor is that one of Nikon’s upcoming devices, Coolpix S800, will run Google’s mobile platform, allowing its owners to install apps on it. The forthcoming camera will apparently be launched later this month, featuring a 25-250mm lens, 3.5-inch OLED display, along with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi. Android 2.3 Gingerbread will most likely run the show, though we hope future firmware upgrades will bring newer version of the platform.

The Coolpix S800 will be part of Nikon’s point-and-shoot range and at this moment we’ve no idea how much it will cost. We do, however, want to know whether some of you would be instead to buy something like this? Or you’re satisfied with your phone’s camera?
