A London-based cinema is using a novel approach to deter people’s urge to use their mobile phones during films – it has hired stealthy ninjas in the cinema who swoop on the phone addicts and stop them.

The Prince Charles cinema, which specializes in low-cost cult films, is offering free viewing to volunteers willing to wear an all-over black stocking outfit and watch out for mobile phone users and other anti-social occurrences.

We all know that using a mobile phone in cinemas and theatres is not acceptable even when the phone is set to silent, because people sitting nearby complain of being disturbed by the glowing screens. That said, we’re not surprised that cinema-goers are supporting this action. The problem, however, is that this is a specific sort of cinema we’re talking about and this kind of approach may not work in more commercial venues. We like the idea, nevertheless. ;)
