Pantech unveiled a powerful phablet in its own backyard – Vega R3. The device rocks a 5.3-inch IPS-based LCD screen while getting its power from Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor (just like the LG Optimus G). But that’s not all – this big fella also packs 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera, effectively making it the best phablet device ever. Too bad it won’t leave the shores of Korean peninsula. South Koreans, on the other hand, can pick it up on any of their three major carriers starting today, September 25th.

When it comes to preloaded software, Pantech talks about Text Action that allows handwritten content to be imported into messaging; Best Face which allows you to select the best facial feature from multiple photos; Canvas Talk – for sending texts or images during a voice call; Mini-window; support for Vega Cloud Live and Vega Media Live. Awesome!

CyanogenMod is based directly on the core android OS. It’s extremely close to the ‘real android’, and aims to bring the flavour found on Google’s devices to others.
