In order to help its customers find the perfect gift for the kids, Target is unveiling multiple initiatives that deliver “added convenience and savings” on this year’s top toys, including QR codes (and some other things we don’t care about). Beginning October 14, the retail chain will showcase the top 20 toys on the main aisle in-store to make finding gifts easier for time-strapped holiday shoppers. For added convenience — here’s the part we care about — each of the top toys will have a QR code that can be scanned to purchase the toy directly using a mobile device and ship it for free to anyone, anywhere in the U.S.

Pretty neat – you find a toy, scan it with your mobile phone and voila – it’s already on its way to your home. The list of top toys you can buy this way includes selection for boys and girls of every age, from popular brands like Hasbro, LEGO, LeapFrog and Mattel. Don’t want to go into details which toys those are as I’m sure you’ll get Target’s catalog soon. Just wanted to let you know that you can now shop much faster with the help of mobile technology. Nice! ;)
