Corning recently hit a milestone that shows just how prevalent its popular Gorilla Glass has become. During its earning conference call this week, the company confirmed its scratch-resistant screen covering material is now present on over 1 billion devices worldwide.
Gorilla Glass was made famous when it appeared on the original iPhone and is now present in products from Asus, Acer, Nokia, Dell, HP, HTC, LG, Lenovo, Sony and more. The specialty glass has boosted Corning’s earnings and now recently generated $363 million in sales this past quarter.
If you think Gorilla Glass is cool, then you should check out Corning’s next product, Willow Glass, which is an ultra-slim flexible glass that may revolutionize the display technology used in consumer devices.
