In an unlikely case you use a Windows Phone device and also happen to own a Mac computer, you’ll want to know that Microsoft rebranded the Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac to simply Windows Phone. The Redmond-based giant did something similar with its Windows app and we think this is part of the effort to unify its mobile brand.

Aside from being able to sing along latest Windows Phone 8 devices, the application also comes with support for drag and drop files between Windows Phone and your Mac desktop, support for iPhoto 9.3.2 and Aperture 3.3.2, support for battery charge state, as well as enhanced capability support for ringtone files. In addition, there are new graphics that take advantage of the new Mac’s Retina display.

To get Microsoft’s new app, simply search for “Windows Phone” in the AppStore and take it from there. Before you know it, you’ll be dragging and dropping files like it’s nobody’s business. 😉
