Android 4.1 Jelly Bean headed to Motorola Droid RAZR M today?

Maybe Verizon is getting a hint that it should be updating its handsets in a more timely fashion, as it’s just approved Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Motorola Droid RAZR M. While the handset may have launched in mid-September, we’re pretty surprised that the device is seeing the update so quickly.

We know that updating an Android phone isn’t as easy and throwing in the new code and pushing it to customers. Custom user interfaces need to be tweaked by the manufacturer to take advantage of new features, and after that it needs to be approved by the carrier, of which Verizon is known to take its sweet ass time. We could also imaging that since Motorola’s custom UI is so close to stock Android that it doesn’t take too long to get things going.

The Droid RAZR M may not be the most powerful device with the best specs, but it’s certainly one of the more unique handsets with the Droid RAZR moniker thanks to it’s almost bezelless display.

Expected to begin rolling out today, be sure to check your RAZR M and see if the Jelly Bean update is waiting for you!
