Today T-Mobile started rolling out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean updates to the Samsung Galaxy S III. Magenta has the update available through the over-the-air system and Samsung’s Kies application. The new upgrade brings a slew of fixes and improvements:

  • Version:
    • Android version 4.0.4/Software version T999UVLJA
    • Approved 11/14/2012
  • New Features:
    • Jelly Bean
  • Improvements:
    • Wi-Fi calling improvements
    • Camera enhancements
    • Keyboard improvements
  • Prerequisites
    • OTA and Samsung Kies update
    • T999UVLJ4, T999UVLH2, T999UVLG1 or T999UVLEM
    • Device software is not rooted
    • 50% battery life
    • Data connection
    • File size of update is 344 MB (it is recommended to connect to Wi-Fi to complete the OTA)

Unfortunately, those of you rocking the GSIII on AT&T will have to wait a bit longer. Other than that, if you’re on T-Mobile and can’t wait to get the update pushed to your handset, then head into Settings > About device > Software update to see if it’s available. If you’d rather use Kies, head here to grab the download.

Let us know if you received your Jelly Bean update in our comment section!
