We know that T-Mobile is selling the hot-new Nexus 4 for $199 with a two-year contract, and up until this point we didn’t know how much the carrier will ask for the phone off-contract. How we have that information and are (kinda) glad to share it. The “kinda” part comes from the fact that T-Mobile wants you to pour out $499 for the 16GB Nexus 4 sans any strings attached. And yes, that’s the same version which Google sells for $150 less at its Play Store — or at least, the same version Google used to sell while the device was still in stock.

With Google clearing out its stock, eager Nexus fans will have to pay a premium to get the highly thought off gadget. We guess the search giant is either heavily subsidizing the Nexus 4 or is even losing some cash along the way to spur adoption. T-Mobile, and other carriers for that matter, don’t get to benefit from all the ads Google will serve you during the life-span of an Android smartphone or tablet…
