Lenovo working on a 5-inch 1080p phone with dual-SIM connectivity

Lenovo is looking to enter the high-end smartphone market and is in the midst of working on a device with a 5-inch 1080p screen. The screenshots above have been spotted at Sina Weibo, but have since been deleted. But that was enough for the savvy blogosphere to reach conclusions.

It is said that the upcoming smartphone (or that’s a phablet) will be able to sing along two networks, accommodating 2 different SIM cards. One of them will connect to China Telecom’s CDMA2000 network and the other one to China Mobile’s 2G network, allowing Chinese folks to roam their way across the country.

At the moment we’ve no information when or even whether this device will ever be released in the Western hemisphere but we do hope Lenovo will pursue its global ambitions. Of course, that second SIM card slot will most likely disappear in the meantime… We’ll let you know as soon as we hear something new on this…
