Jolla, the company that wants to re-do MeeGo and make it available to companies not liking any of the incumbent mobile platforms (or just want to experiment with a new platform), unveiled a demo video for its OS and Sailfish UI on YouTube. As you’re about to see, this is one promising platform with a ton of gesture-based controls. The problem, however, is that we don’t know a single handset maker willing to experiment with Jolla and are still waiting for the company to launch its first product. Perhaps the platform’s ability to run Android apps will entice some players to give it a shot, perhaps not. We can’t really tell at the moment but we’ll make sure you get the latest news the second we get it. In the meantime, here’s the mentioned demo video. Enjoy!

Promising but will it take off? Who wants to experiment with a new platform? Mainstream consumers don’t want… as far as I can tell…
