If you have a Samsung Galaxy S III from Verizon in your pocket, then we have some great news for you! It looks like Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will be hitting devices starting tomorrow. As per usual, you can expect the update to roll out in waves, so don’t be surprised if the update doesn’t land on your phone tomorrow.
This is pretty exciting for Galaxy S III owners for Verizon, as it usually takes quite a while due to Big Red’s vigorous testing procedures on software updates. Even though Jelly Bean itself has been out for quite a while, it’s nonetheless great to see the update hitting one of the world’s most popular smartphones, finally.
Jelly Bean offers a host of improvements to the Android OS, although the update in itself is incremental. Offering up the new, enhanced Voice Search, Google Now, Project Butter, expandable notifications, and more, Jelly Bean is a great compliment to Ice Cream Sandwich. Now that Android 4.2 is already running on devices (less than a full percent), we can only hope that it will also come sooner rather than later.
The new update also makes the Galaxy S III an ISIS-ready device, allowing customers to use their phones as mobile wallets in participating areas.
