The new rumor we’ve got suggests that the next Samsung Galaxy smartphone will be launched in April. From what we’ve heard, it will have a 5-inch full HD screen to compete with similar models offered by other handset makers like HTC, Oppo, ZTE, Huawei and Sony. However, the Korean company’s device may be slightly different than the competing products as it may include the S Pen functionality.

The rumor goes on suggesting that the next Galaxy S device may also ship with Samsung’s quad-core Exynos 5440 chip which would use ARM big.LITTLE architecture with an energy-efficient A7 processor for basic tasks paired with A15 for more intense loads.

We can’t really confirm a thing at the moment, but we’re betting Samsung engineers are working their asses off to repeat the success of the previous Galaxy S models. It’s not an easy task, but they may be able to pull it off, again. We’ll see…

I’d like to read more about the S Pen. How successful have S Pen phones/tablets been?

The way they work, are they open at all? Do they work to any standard? Is there any move by any other manufacturer or by Google to adopt S Pens or something similar?

On a completely unrelated note, I hulu’d a November Burn Notice to see Patton Oswalt sporting a Windows 8 phone.
