Looks like T-Mobile or one of its subsidiaries is preparing to launch a low-end feature phone with full QWERTY keyboard. The ZTE F555 aka Wombat has been caught at the FCC and from there we learn it’s most likely heading to the Magenta carrier’s prepaid offering. We can’t really confirm this 100% but judging by the entry-level specs, you won’t need a contract to get one of these.
Aside from the mentioned keyboard, the Wombat also comes with Bluetooth support, 1700MHz 3G and 850/1900MHz GSM/EDGE connectivity. There’s also a 2-megapixel camera, some media player and so on. We’ve no idea when T-Mobile will officially launch this ZTE phone and, honestly, we don’t care about it. We’re more excited to check out the ZTE Grand S, instead.
