ASUS announced its new Windows 8 device, VivoTab Smart tablet, which gets its power from Intel’s Atom Z2760 dual-core processor. The device has a 10.1-inch 1366×768 pixels IPS screen that can keep up with up to five fingers at once. Moreover, it also has an 8-megapixel camera on the back and 2-megapixel one on the front to make for a high-res video calls.
But there’s more. You see, along with the tablet itself, ASUS will also offer what it calls the “TransSleeve” keyboard that not only brings regular keyboard to the tablet, but also keeps the screen protected. Plus, unlike the keyboard cover Microsoft Surface has, this one also has a touchpad for those situations when you prefer moving the pointer around the screen rather than relying on a touch-based input.
Unfortunately, the Taiwanese company failed to mention the release date and price so we’ll have to wait a bit more to get that information… All said, I like the VivoTab Smart though I still have to try it out to make a final judgment.
