Just as we told you, Polaroid unveiled its Android-powered camera at CES. The new Polaroid iM1836 is the first such product that comes with interchangeable-lenses, allowing anyone to capture “outstanding, professional quality images and instantly share them with friends.” The camera sensor counts 18 megapixels, optical zoom has a 10-30mm lens, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show, enabling instant photo uploads to popular image sharing and social networking sites. There’s also a 3.5-inch touchscreen of unknown resolution (press release doesn’t say anything about it) from which you can access all of the camera’s functions. We also have no idea which processor powers the iM1836 and we can only hope it’s up to a task to make for a decent, lag-free experience. As for the price and availability, interested folks will be able to grab the iM1836 for $399 at some point in the first quarter of the year.
