This one’s just a rumor, but a good one. New photos reveal HTC’s flagship smartphone for 2013, the M7. If the rumors are true, HTC will be kicking 2013 with a bang.

Android Police published the alledged images on Sunday, reporting that the pictures show “something that more than likely is the M7.” Earlier reports about the M7 suggest that the handset will tout a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 4.7-inch full-HD display with a pixel density of 468 ppi, 13-megapixel camera, and a 2,300 mAh battery. The handset will also be running on HTC’s Sense 5.0.

The new photos reveal a few differences from a render released last week. In the newly released photos, the M7 has a flash on the opposite side of the camera, and lacks an FCC logo or any other product certification marks. The Beats logo also lacks any text, and the HTC logo appears to be a glossy black instead of the embedded chrome shown in the previous mockup. The photos also reveal that the front-facing camera will be on the top-right corner of the device, the volume rocker will be on the right side, and some new bright widgets will grace the screen.

We can drool over the M7 all we want, but until HTC officially announces this device, it exists in the ether. But with the previous mock-up and these new photos, the M7 is looking like it may soon be a reality. The device is still in the prototype phase so the design could, and very well might, change.

What do you think of the new alleged M7 photos? Are we getting Rick Roll’d? Let us know.
