I’ve got a neat accessory from the folks of MobileFun.co.uk – Universal smart stand for mobile phones. As you can see from the image above, there’s nothing too technical about it – it’s just used to hold your phone so you can either watch a video or make video calls. Or, use it to hold a phone while typing something (with a Bluetooth keyboard). That’s my setting when I’m in a cafe… so that I don’t have to carry a laptop.

MobileFun is selling this handy stand for $23.49, which may sound a lot until you try it out. It’s a solidly build “device” that can easily hold a tablet if needed — I tried with Nexus 10 and it works perfectly. Yet, the stand remains pretty compact, measuring just 85.5×25.2×15 mm, and you can even attached it to a keychain or lanyard.

The tripod design of the holder pulls out from the keychain housing and folds back up for “maximum portability.” Yeah, it’s PR talk but the Universal smart stand does deliver on that front. Check it out and let me know how it works for you. ;)
