New BlackBerrys outselling popular Android smartphones and the iPhone 5 in France

BlackBerry is steadily getting back to the game with some analysts claiming that sales of its new smartphones going strong. The Canadian company haven’t revealed any official figures except some vague phrases like “few million units.”

In France, mobile users are apparently flocking in numbers to get the QWERTY keyboard-equipped Q10. According to a local carrier SFR, that model is outselling such popular devices as Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and even the iPhone 5. Moreover, the all-touchscreen Z10 is also in high-demand, outselling the iPhone 5, Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S III.

With some 21 million subscribers, Vivendi-owned SFR is the second largest operator in France, after Orange. We doubt this is just an “SFR thing” and are pretty sure BlackBerry sales are strong across the board. We’ll let you know if we have some other tidbit to add to the story. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
