AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update Available Via Samsung Kies

AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 owners are in luck today, as AT&T is rolling out a firmware update for the device which brings Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to the device, according to the folks over at XDA developers. The build number of the new update is UCMD8, and can be obtained by checking for the update via Samsung’s Kies software.

Although the full changelog is not available at the moment, the leap from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean will bring some well welcomed improvements to Galaxy S2 users. Jelly Bean brings numerous bugfixes and speed improvements via Project Butter, and introduces Google Now into the fray.

AT&T hasn’t released the update OTA just yet, although it will more than likely be coming by the end of the week. If you’d like to get Jelly Bean for your Samsung Galaxy S2 now, plug your device into a computer, open up the Samsung Kies software and let the updating begin.

Is it just me or is this new update DUMPING the battery’s charge on the phone? With absolutely no extra background operations running, wifi and 4G off, i can literally watch the battery level drain before my eyes. This update is new, but something tells me that in a weeks time millions of the same complaint are going to rack up. WTF

I absolutely hate the update. I can charge my phone to 100%, unplug it without being on it at all, and 10 minutes later it’s on like 90%. I hate the way everything looks, even the keyboard. I would like to know how to undo the update without the factory reset, but I can’t find anything about it.

Battery is discharging at unbelievable rate. Had been getting 30+ hours now down to 6-8. Tried turning off many of the new additions on Jelly Bean but not seeing and major change (improvements). Juice Defender worked well on ICS but not so on JB. Likewise tried Battery Booster with minimal improvements. They need to fix.

After the upgrade the phone is warm to hot all the time. The Exchange services show using 76 percent of the batter usage.Less than two hours and 30 percent discharge.

half of my apps crash or don’t work and i can’t look at any of my files, even after deleting apps to free up space. I hate this and it needs to be fixed

Had to exhange my phone with new update, it crashed my bluetooth connection in my car and while at the AT&T store crashed while the techs tried reconfiguring. They said I should wait. There will be another update coming up in about 2 weeks.

I hate it as well, nothing works right, YOU SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION TO ACCEPT OR DECLINE AN UPDATE! Never fails, as soon as you figure out the answer, someone changes the question! – – – not happy, happy, happy! – – –
