According to a report from DigiTimes, a slew of mini versions of flagship Android smartphones will be hitting the market in Q3 of this year. According to Taiwan based supply chain markets, Samsung, HTC, Huawei and Lenovo are expected to launch mini versions of their devices in the second half of this year.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and the HTC One Mini are among the devices rumored to be released in Q3, with details of Huawei and Lenovo’s mini devices still unknown.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini’s specs have been confirmed by Samsung, and the device will ship with a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.7GHz dual core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The HTC One mini has yet to be confirmed by HTC, and is rumored to sport 4.3-inch 720p display, an dual-core processor, an UltraPixel camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and Sense 5.
DigiTimes states that we may see an inexpensive 3.5-inch iPhone launch in Q3 as well, which lines up with previous leaks and rumors.
