Polaroid’s iM1836 Android-powered camera with interchangeable-lens is finally available for purchase with Walmart and Amazon.com getting the exclusive launch deal.
The iM1836 offers D-SLR quality along with simplicity of a point-and-shoot camera. It comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 10-30mm optical zoom lens, HDMI out and Wi-Fi connectivity, while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show. It is available for $299.
But that’s not all. An additional 500mm telephoto lens will be available in November, and a 50mm lens will start selling in early 2014.
“This camera has generated tremendous buzz since it first debuted at CES this year,” said Sakar President Jeff Saka. “Now, we’re thrilled to see it hit store shelves, just in time for the holiday season, making it perfect for capturing precious family memories and for gift-giving.”
We like how Android is going to new places, but are still not convinced this is the product we want. How about you – would you buy the iM1836? If so – hop over to this page at Amazon.com to get one.
