We know pretty much everything there is to know about the upcoming All New HTC One. It will build on top of the current HTC One adding a bigger screen, faster processor and second rear camera to the mix. Now, thanks to the GSMarena report, we know what that second shooter will be used for.
According to the leaked Telstra document (Telstra is Australia’s leading carrier), the two cameras on the phone’s back will allow users to choose focus point after the photo has been taken. It’s like Lytro, only on your mobile phone.
In addition, users will be able to get some 3D effects, which probably means take 3D photos and videos, and later beam them to compatible, 3D-enabled TVs. Of course, the All New HTC One wouldn’t be the first device with 3D recording capability – the HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D both allowed this. Alas those two weren’t selling like crazy and were rather niche devices. With the new One, HTC wants to bring this technology to the mainstream consumer and chances are, it will succeed doing so.
