HTC’s recently released HTC One M8 for Windows will land on T-Mobile this fall. The magenta carrier has yet to detail pricing for the Windows Phone 8.1 device, but is letting interested parties pre-register for the M8. The announcement makes T-Mobile the third U.S. carrier to announce availability of HTC’s strange hybrid, following in the footsteps of Verizon and AT&T.
The HTC One M8 for Windows doesn’t vary at all from its Android counterpart, touting the same specs and design of the original M8, just with Windows Phone 8.1 in the place of Android. I have to admit I still prefer Android over Windows Phone, but Microsoft’s OS has grown by leaps and bounds lately, and it shows in Windows Phone 8.1. Cortana is impressive as well, but Microsoft is still going to have a hard time trying to get us to dump Siri and invest in a whole new app ecosystem.
Still, it’s nice to see Windows Phone coming into its own. Whether that will increase Microsoft’s market share remains to be seen.
