Motorola Offically Announces Android 5.0 Lollipop for the 2014 Moto G and Moto X

Just this morning, we began hearing reports that the 2014 Moto G was receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Motorola just made those reports real by officially announcing the rollout of Lollipop to the Moto X Pure Edition and both the U.S. and global model of the Moto G. The update is rolling out to devices located in the U.S., and Motorola assures us that they are working closely with carriers to get the update approved. If you’re like me and just can’t wait for that Lollipop sweetness, you can always head over to Motorola’s support page for updates on all things Lollipop and Motorola.

Hopefully this signals a torrent of Lollipop updates over the coming weeks. Nexus devices as well as the LG G3 should be next on the list, followed by flagship devices from Sony, Samsung and others. It would be nice to see everyone updated by the beginning of the new year, but we’ll have to wait and see about that one. It could be very well into the new year before we see Lollipop finish its rollout across the globe.

Have you received your update yet? How do you like it? Let us know in the comments.
