Handmark: We’ll support Samsung’s Bada platform!

Handmark and Samsung made an agreement under which Handmark will support the Korean company’s brand new Bada platform. In other words, we’ll have tons of apps Handmark has made for various media companies available via Samsung Apps.

The first app that will be ported to Bada is the London Evening Standard app, which will be launched later this month, with Thompson Reuters, Goal.com and others to follow.

In addition to Bada, Handmark also supports other popular smartphone platforms, including the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, webOS, Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile.

Current Bada smartphone portfolio consists of three phones only – Samsung Wave, Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro.

Handmark is on board and that’s good for the prospects of the Bada platform. However, Samsung also needs other major developers on board — these days users want Skype, Foursquare, Evernote and many other apps and games on their smartphones, and without those included in the Samsung Apps catalog I can’t see the prospects of Bada…
