Once again we see Sony Ericsson sending one of its devices for the FCC approval, yet we know that doesn’t mean shit. I guess we shouldn’t blame Sony Ericsson — I’ve no doubt they want a piece of the U.S. market. But, there are also other parties involved, like err U.S. carriers. Some of them are using CDMA standard and some of them are, let’s say picky. But, even if they’re picky they should be delighted to carry the W960i Walkman phone. It’s a flagship product of the Swedish-Japanese company and should also deliver the brain – not just the music. After all, it’s a Symbian UIQ 3.0 based smartphone, meaning that its users will be able to customize it with third-party apps as they wish. We’ll see where this goes.
