A new report published by the Mobile Industry Crime Action Forum (MICAF) suggests UK networks are quite efficient in blocking stolen mobile phones. According to MICAF, 98% of mobile phones across all networks reported stolen are blocked within 48 hours.
Naturally, carriers in Britain are using phone’s unique IMEI number to block phone as soon as user reports. The only alternative thieves have is to sell quickly, in which case the buyer gets shafted — or to move the merchandise across the English Channel to continental Europe…
