Samsung awarded

At this year’s CES, it was Samsung which shined more than any other handset manufacturer, as the Korean giant received 13 International CES Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering Awards.

In the wireless handset accessories category, the Samsung UbiCell was named the Best of Innovations, which is awarded to the most highly honored products in each category. In addition, four of Samsung’s Bluetooth headsets were awarded as honorees — including the Bang & Olufsen designed WEP420, WEP410 (the one I have), small quarter-sized WEP500, and the WEP430, a headset that wraps around the ear and holds the headset in a “smooth, flat place over the ear canal.”

Eight of Samsung’s handsets received Design and Engineering Honorees in the wireless handsets category — including the UpStage (SPH-m620), Juke (SCH-u470), SCH-i760, FlipShot (SCH-u900), SCH-u620, Blast (SGH-t729), BlackJack II (SGH-i617) and Fin (SPH-a513).
